Are They Trying to Frustrate me?

It has been a very LONG day so maybe I am not in the right frame of mind, but I am a little frustrated right now. We spent a whole class period revising and editing posts that we had previously published. We have talked about capitalization and punctuation until there is nothing left to talk about, yet they still have errors in their posts. Some people are just being downright silly. I have started rejecting what they have written and explaining why, it is just hard, because they continue to do so. I have 30 posts, that I will not accept because of some type of error. Tomorrow a good part of my class will be spent calling students up, having them read what it is they typed and discussing why I can't publish it.

Like I said, it has been a long day (study trip today) so maybe my mind frame will be different tomorrow.

  1. Quick question-How do you feel about letting them put smilie faces, etc. by their name? I am not sure how I feel about that.

  2. I am assuming the kids enjoy posting to blog. The smilie faces probably add to the enjoyment and individuality. It probably depends on the assignment and post. If it is just a general comment, smilie ok! If it is a comment about content that needs a serious response, maybe no smilie. I am not sure if that makes sense, but a thought none the less. Good luck, I was frustrated last week. It passes. :)

  3. It makes perfect sense and I see your point. I think I will allow smilie faces.
